Pangen 40 is indicated in the treatment of:
Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD)
Peptic Ulcer Disease (gastric and duodenal ulcers)
Erosive Esophagitis
Zollinger-Ellison Syndrome and other hypersecretory conditions
Stress-related mucosal damage in critically ill patients
Prophylaxis of acid aspiration in surgical procedures
Administer only via intravenous route under medical supervision.
Use with caution in patients with severe hepatic impairment.
Prolonged use may increase risk of vitamin B₁₂ deficiency or hypomagnesemia.
May slightly increase susceptibility to gastrointestinal infections (Clostridium difficile).
Do not mix with other IV drugs or infusions.
Evaluate periodically if used for long-term acid suppression therapy.
Generally well-tolerated.
Mild side effects may include headache, nausea, flatulence, or diarrhea.
Occasionally, mild injection-site irritation or dizziness.
Rarely, prolonged therapy may cause low magnesium or vitamin B₁₂ levels.
Adults: 40 mg once daily by slow intravenous injection or infusion.
In severe conditions: May be increased to 80 mg/day as per physician’s advice.
Route: Intravenous (IV) only; not for intramuscular use.
Reconstitution: Dissolve contents in 10 mL sterile saline or compatible IV fluid; use immediately after preparation.
